The proposed redevelopment of The L.A. Grand Hotel Downtown property is intended to become a new mixed use project featuring the tallest building west of the Mississippi. The existing 13 story hotel tower will be renovated and converted to provide 224 rental apartments while the existing hotel podium will be demolished to provide space for an expansive 2 story meeting room complex as well as the feature 77 story 5 star hotel and residences tower. The new tower is proposed to be 1,108 feet tall with a 2 story bar and lounge space occupying the 76^th and 77^th floors
